Now, I really hate to profile, but this dude is about as bright as the rapper TI. If he didn't try to smoke in the cop's car, he might have gotten away. :S2:

When a state trooper stopped a New York motorist for speeding early Friday, he at first suspected that the occupants had marijuana in the car because of the distinctive odor wafting from the vehicle, police said.

A search of the car yielded no marijuana, state police spokesman Cpl. Bruce Harris said.

The car stop occurred about 2:55 a.m. on the Coastal Highway, near Dewey Beach.

The trooper told the driver and his 24-year-old passenger, Edward Peterson, to get out of the car.

The men were put into separate patrol cars while troopers searched the Chevrolet Impala, Harris said.

But the search failed to turn up any marijuana.

The trooper walked back to his patrol car, where Peterson was seated. As he did, he again noticed the aroma of marijuana, but now it was coming from the police car, Harris said.

Again, the trooper ordered Peterson out of the car and searched the area where he was seated.

It was then that the trooper discovered two small baggies of a green leafy substance. A preliminary narcotics test at the scene confirmed the substance was marijuana, weighing 1.8 grams, Harris said.

Peterson, of Jamaica, N.Y., was charged with marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was later released on $750 bail.
