I've had chronic shin splints for the past three years (this is where the muscle attached to your front shin bone starts to tear apart from it for whatever reason). When I first got them, I went to my doctor and he said there was nothing medically that they could do about it. I just needed to lower my sodium intake and increase water and potassium.
