    Keeping a blunt alight

Hey guys, i'm pretty new to the whole subculture of weed, don't know any fancy techniques or much in general. I just know I like to get high.

So what i'm assuming is a blunt, or atleast that's its slang round here. Which is like a joint but with no tobacco. (I'm aware of the cigar blunts but they aren't what I mean for this and i'm not sure of any other name)

So i'm in amsterdam, I grind up my weed, not to a fine powder but to quite small peices, put it in a king rizla, roll it up light it etc.

Problem was it wouldn't stay alight. I've heard weed burns at a much higher temp, does that have any relevance to this? How do I keep it burning, are there any visual guides to rolling/lighting them properly?

(ps. I know i'm new to all this, rather than insult my lack of knowledge, i'd rather you save it and just help me learn)

If your not getting a decent hit either the weed is a bit damp, or you rolled it too tight, or you have a bud clot somewhere in the joint.

So... make sure it is dry, cut it up well, and remove all stems, and don't roll it real tight. Scrap the machine, learn to hand roll. Machines are for sissys.

Finally remember to pass the damn joint. Most time the joint goes out is because someone is yattering away and clean forgets to pass it. That person may need proding once in a while. Yelling at him/her to pass it may be required.

yup, just rolled it too tight brotha. blunts are fine if there lose....im not talkin fallin out the blunt but compared to a joint, they do not need to be super tight like i know some people prefer with there joints. try it again, not sure what kind of wraps are available out that way, but i seen videos of people smokin wraps in amsterdam coffee shops so theres gotta be wraps around , if not your average single layer cigar will work. split it end to end, make sure its moast first. insert and roll, lick to make sure seals and use a lighter to dry if needed. try a filter if you want, that works well to keep an even flow as well, no soggin up. cheers :smokin::smokin:

Here a joint is all weed. Because we grow a lot of it, and it is very good, mixing it with tobacco is never done. But if it was done, I thought that was called a blunt.

Do I have it right, or backwards. No big deal, just confused, like normal. Did the terminology change while I was not looking?

If we roll a giant party joint we also call that a blunt.

On the east coast of canada, putting tobacco mixed with flower in joints is the most common way to smoke, they are HUGE on that for whateever reason. They also refuse to put flowers in a oil joint, stricly oil and cig tobaccoo !!! :smokin: Ive also heard people in the states call a big ass joint a blunt, but really is isnt, a blunt is a totally different roll as its a tobaccoo leaf . I have smoked blunts most of my life, but in the last 2 years since I bought a volcano and moved back to canada, its very rare to smoke a blunt, last christmas my cousin had an old optimo and I decided to break it down and roll us a blunt, first time ever did I not enjoy my smoke and I actually felt sick....probally from so long of not smoking blunts/tobacco

Joints dont require tobacco and I would never waste some yummy reefer by mixing it with tobacco either, also having tobacco in it doesnt necessarily make it a joint.only differenver between a joint and a blunt is the type of paper.:jointsmile::jointsmile:

The blunt originated in the slammer to cover the smell of the weed smoke. Swisher Sweets was the originally preferred wrap until it caught on with the civilian population with the gangs and hip hoppers. imp:

Mixing tobacco is the European way with hashish, and I've seen them mix it in eastern Europe with cannabis. I don't like mixing it period. Tobacco tastes better after smoking a few hits.

Now that we're talking about it, I have a joint that is waiting to get lit once again!!!

In cali a "blunt" is tree's rolled in some kind of a cigar wrapper.
    Rolled by hand.
And i prefer broken down by hand.
Youtube how to roll a blunt, worked for me at age 13

Now i cant break down the weed and split the swisher and have a chop rolled in 5ish minutes.
    Practice makes perfect!
