I've been looking at several different systems. At first, I was just going to build my own, using pvc tubing, some plastic containers, pumps and so on.

However, what I am finding out is that there is more to this than meets the eye, and actually, once you begin to add up all the various components, plus, also having to go through the trial and error process of making sure everything is going to continue working over several months without a lot of fix-its and "discoveries" along the way, I'd rather just pay the $ up front and try out a couple of systems that come from companies that have been doing this for many years.

So . . . anyone have any brands or companies I should look at? Any suggestions are absolutely appreciated.

Just for reference, I was taking a close look at some of the General Hydroponics systems, I've actually seen this equipment in operation first hand.

However, I haven't made any final decisions yet, so please, I'm ready for any suggestions or experiences with various systems . . . many thanks
2011Tamara Reviewed by 2011Tamara on . Choosing the right hydroponic system I've always wanted to grow hydroponically and I have seen lots of pics of others online, but I have no where to start. So I went online and searched for grow system, but it seemed like all the nice systems were very expensive and the cheaper ones looked like they weren't worth the money. I found what looked like the perfect system but I'd like to get some opinions from others here who've grown crops hydroponically.
