Oral Swab today -- Gums Bled

I just had an oral swab today as a pre-employment screen

Having known ahead of time of this, and knowing the main details surrounding oral exams and many other exams.. I was not concerned as it had been over a week since I last partool

Now with that said, after 5 minutes of manipulating the "oral dip stick" to not press closely against my gum or cheek, I Was shocked to discover that there what appeared to be a tiny pink/reddish blot of blood on the dip stick.

I am afraid that this might have tainted what would have been my otherwise clean oral swab.

Is there any chance that, had my gums bled ever so slightly that they could test the blood *OR* would the the blood contaminate the saliva causing a positive result.

Best case scenario, obviously, it does not.

Middle case scenario, they determine the blood to have tainted the test and I would have to take another (And hopefully not repeat)

Worst case scenario, obvious... it does effect/taint the specimen.

I may have been wrong (But I don't see where to delete this post) but i just discovered that in some cases, these tests actually do the test right on the stick and have specific spots designed to turn pink, or not turn pink. The test I took was very similar to the one below:

Saliva Drug Testing - Oral Drug Test Kits

*WITH*

"Positive: A rose-pink band is visible in each control zone. No color band appearing in the appropriate test zone indicates a positive result for the corresponding drug of that specific test zone.

Negative: A rose-pink band is visible in each control zone and the appropriate test zone, indicating that the concentration of the corresponding drug of that specific test zone is below the detection limit of the test."

What I do not understand is they have told me from the start that this would be long process and they would not get the results back from the lab for 6 days. They insisted they send it to a lab. Would this make sense if the stick was an instant chromotgraph result?
