    No0b.. first grow

im gonna use 4 23watt cfl's which are equivelant to 100watts..each bulb puts out 1600 lumens.. which would equal 6400 lumens.. im thinking of using a highly refelctive material for the walls instead of just plain white.. im planning on using these bulbs for all of seedling and vegetative states and then for flowering im gonna use 8 bulbs which would then equal 25600 lumens.. i will only be growing one plant inside this box and really all i want to know if this is even an ok setup and what type of soil should i use thats affordable

this is just a quick summary of what im gonna do im high right now haha :weedpoke::bigsmoke::smokebong::S5:

i will post pics once i set it all up =]
    plz someone help =]

    Welcome to the boards

Check out the first link in my sig, a lot of good info there. I'd recommend doing a lot of reading in the next couple weeks before starting, it'll save you a lot of headaches.

    Lighting sounds good so far.

You can use just about any regular potting soil and add 25-30% perlite, but if starting from seed then look into a seedling starter soil with some perlite.

You'll also need several different pots, with the largest being 5 gallons, ph test kit, cannabis-specific nutrients, a fan for moving air around, ventilation to get rid of old air and bring in new, and perhaps a carbon filter for odor control.

Also check out this thread and there is a link to growroom setup in the first post:http://boards.cannabis.com/basic-gro...-dankness.html

99.9% of the information you need to successfully grow can be found on this site. Use the search function, read the FAQ's and stickies at the top of each forum, then ask specific questions if you still have them.

    Happy growing

Never used it myself, but a lot of people around here and the online community use their Ocean Forest soil with a lot of success. But, it can be pretty expensive depending on where you live. Also there have been several reports around from growers complaining about the quality and consistency of the soil. One problem I see a lot is that once the soil gets 6-8 weeks of use, the ph drops and problems start. This is normal for peat-based soils, and you will just have to time your transplants accordingly.

I would look into some kind of locally produced potting soil myself, and add the perlite of course
