    Another stupid noob question

Hey,been doing ALOT of reading lately on growing, and I only have 1 Question..
When your little baby breaks the soil, is it best to run 18/6 ,20/4 or 24 straight, the reason I ask is that nearly everyone seem to have a different way, which works the best or is this a personal choice? Wont 24 straght well, just kill it? Sorry for stupid question, I think I might be to stoned to often! Thanks for the wealth of knowledge here on this site, great friendly people here to, much love from South Africa :stoned::stoned::stoned::stoned::stoned::stoned:

    Another stupid noob question

18/6 is what i think works great for most photoperoid type plants. Now 20/4 is great for autoflowers. Plants need time to rest. roots seem to develop better as well, must have to do with darkness. Also read some years ago plant breath out so to speak during darkness . or release somthing or the other . maybe a pro could explain it better.

    Another stupid noob question

There was a thread at another site where some peeps did a test on this. They found that 20/4 had the best results, 18/6 was also good, but 24/0 was the worst (if I remember that last one correctly). They tried other combinations too, I'm sure you can find the thread if you look for it.

It is probably somewhat strain dependent also, but yeah, 18/6 is usually the norm, can save a lot of money when running a lot of watts.

    EDIT: Found it!

22/2 Less of both. yield 88%
18/6 Studier than 22/2 but slightly less bulk. yield 87%
24/0 Much lighter in all aspects than 18/6. Yield 79%
16/8 The weediest plants. yield 67%

Plants vegged to final pots under fluorescents at 20w per sq ft on 18/6 yield 49%

For the mum lines we have 20/4 to 12/12 gives the best crop weight and bud quality, really thats all Iā??m interested in.
