MMC's aquiring extra Meds
I thought it is now illegal for MMC's to buy extra medicine from the public ? Doesn't 1284 require them to buy only from other MMC's ?
I ask because I was looking around on Craigs list and found the following add:
"we are looking for a pound asap we have got $4,000 cash for the pound if its high quality be legal we need this toaday were running low on meds have your paper work ready to prove your legal please we dont break the law"mustangwomyn Reviewed by mustangwomyn on . Yeah show up with a pound and get it stolen from you.... Sounds like a scam to me.
And yes MMC's can no longer buy from just anyone any more. Only from other MMC's

I agree sounds sketchy to me. They gave no names or a MMC come by here and we can talk. I would flag it.

MMC's aquiring extra Meds
Take it for what its worth but an article on 9News today says this:
Colorado set a Sept. 1 deadline for medical marijuana centers to state that 70 percent of the marijuana they sell is either grown themselves, or that they have a plan to grow at least 70 percent themselves. The state's new marijuana law aims to cut out independent caregivers who grew pot for sale to dispensaries.
But state officials concede that it will be almost a year before Colorado's pot shops are audited to see where their pot is coming from. Dispensary owners complain that the new growing requirement is vague and impossible to enforce.

When I saw Matt Cook at the last MMBA meeting in Denver he spoke to sourcing prior to Sep 1. He said that they only care where product comes from after Sep 1, which is after you made your certification.
But to answer the question, yes MMC's can only buy excess from other MMCs and that can't be more than 30% of some undetermined volume calculation.

MMC's aquiring extra Meds
So if I decide to grow my own meds and have extra beyond my needs, is there no way I can sell it to a MMC? How about to the co-op I am a member of, and which is run by my primary care provider? Can they buy meds from me?
It seems to me that it would be difficult to grow and for people without an edibles exception NOT go over the 2 oz. limit.
It's all quite confusing.

Additionally, here is a line I'd be interested in:
"... OR A PRIMARY CAREGIVER FOR HIS OR HER PATIENTS
OR A PATIENT FOR HIMSELF OR HERSELF MAY CULTIVATE OR PROVIDE
MARIJUANA AND ONLY FOR MEDICAL USE."
So it looks like you can cultivate, but only for your own use.

MMC's aquiring extra Meds
Well, I think I'll need to contact my Provider and see what's up with the co-op status now, his status as my primary, etc... Which also makes me wonder, if my primary provider had more than 5 prior to the new rules, what happens to those 'extra' folks? I assumed that if there was a change of status, he would let me know.
As for being allowed to grow for themselves, many limited to 2 oz. of ready product, and nowhere to sell overage - that would seem to paint a lot of folks into a corner, so to speak.

It's pretty easy to overgrow that 2oz with only one plant finishing each month. Hash the rest? Make cookies?
