Hey, Guys! This is my first outdoor grow, and I am about 5 weeks into flowering. This is the most excitement since I was having 3-6"/day growth in veg!

First off, I am living on the central coast of California. I graduated from Cal Poly last year with a degree in Economics and Financial management (I have no idea what I want to do with this degree though?... NO CUBICLE CRAP for sure). I tend to be more of an outdoors type person, thus the reason I wanted to grow under the sun. I am, however, going to start a perpetual grow soon (maybe in a scrog style) and am trying to figure out the design, lighting and cooling of my grow room. I am a 215 patient, and have three plants growing in my backyard under transparent plastic tents.

The three strains I have are Bubbleberry at 50", GDP at 30" and a Blue Dream that went crazy and is now 62". All seem to be flowering well, but the fan leaves on my bubbleberry are turning yellow all over. This plant has a lot of resin on the buds, but it is not yet time to harvest. The trichs are still milky with a good amount of clear ones (and no ambers). The GDP has a few amber trichs, but most are the same as the BUbbleberrry. The blue Dream has just exploded with its flowering, and the flowers have doubled in size in 2 days. Pictures of all of these plants are posted on bottom of page: 1-Blue Dream; 2-GDP; 3-Bubbleberry (notice the yellowing fan leaves on bottom of plant).

Other than that, I am hoping that prop 19 passes so that I can get into growing.providing (business wise) cannabis to people commercially. I am just worried about the Prop because it limits the amounts that people can have on them. I am now able to have 12 plants growing (2 scrips in the household, and up to a QP of bud at once). If the prop passes, people can only grow in a 5'x5' area, and have an ounce on them at a time. Now, I know that I don't need as much as I am allowed, but I am wondering what happens to people who do posses more. If this law passes, I am wondering if it is just setting people up to pay fines for having amounts over what is "lawful". It just seems like the prop was written poorly, in this regard. I feel that if I can go in and buy 300 gallons of alcohol and 900 cartons of cigarettes (which I do not drink or smoke cigarettes, I should add), and not be fined, then why are we going to be limited on cannabis if it is legalized? (Seems like it would then only be "partially" legal?) I also wonder if the limits may have been written in by corporations that wish to capitalize on them, and set up huge grow operations that push the local grower out of business (when the business becomes legal) when they can't supply enough to meet the needs of the consumer (based on space restricitions). I am mostly worried about this because I enjoy knowing that a person paid close attention to their crop (ie "cared") when I am using a med. This makes a bug difference in the taste, potency and amount of harmful effects that a finished product will yield. Local growers tend to watch their plants very closely, and do their best to flush the plants well before harvest. It seems that big corporations may not take time to do this, in the pursuit of profits? This could lead to additives being used in processing, making the product they sell cheaper (do to shorter turnover time/less maintenance) yet also more harmful. I'm sure tobacco was not the cause of a large proportion of global deaths before many of the additives were included. But, who knows, maybe these corporations will surprise us? But, I digress...

I am hoping that my plants are doing well, and that the yellowing of the leaves is not a problem (the rest of the plant looks very healthy). If anyone has any advice on this, I would love to hear it. I figure I will probably be harvesting the Bubbleberry and GDP around mid to late Sept, and the Blue Dream in October.

If you guys have any personal/general questions for me, I will gladly answer them to the best of my ability. I am a new grower, so I can only base it on my experience. However, i have researched and experienced a lot of different circumstances during this grow, so I may be able to give a solid answer.

Hope all are well, and good luck growing!

^ welcome. just a quick note, if you are a medical user then prop 19 will have no effect on how much you can grow. in fact the only limit on how much you can grow is your medical need and this will NOT change if 19 passes. it actually mentions the current medical laws in prop 19. so if you want to stay medical you will not be affected at all by prop 19.

for NON MEDICAL consumers (or people who just don't want to have to get a doc's permission to grow) you could have as much at their grow site as you can grow and collect over the harvests within a 25sf garden space. you could end up with pounds and pounds of legal bud if your able to grow more than you consume. The 1 oz. limit is only what you can travel with, and really since 1 oz would be completely legal to travel with then the cops would never know if you have more than that as long as you don't allow them to search you. that smell of herb is no longer probable cause, since your would allowed an oz. to travel with.

This I did not know. Thank you for the update. And here I thought I had done my homework... Haha!

I am probably going to stay medical either way. I am medical for a reason, so I may as well utilize it as an extra safeguard against collateral transition damage after the prop passes.

Anyway, thanks for the compliments on the plants. They seem to be loving the weather, now that the late starting summer is in full effect. Their size suffered a bit, but hopefully flowering will pick up some of that slack.

I read your post. How is your crop progressing?

I have two plants, one a clone that strated toflower in April and then went vegetative and now flowering with wicked looking buds. Other is from seed in bigger container and I think about 6-8 weeks away depending on weather.
