PLANT STRUGGLIN HELP

it shows signs of underwatering but my soil is very compact and the soil stays moist for like a week. i think it was root damage. its pretty much dead now. its been how it is in the above picture for about 6 days now.
i need to get new soil that has better drainage.
any suggestions?

you can mix in 1/3 perlite to 2/3 soil. this will help with compaction and allow more air to get to the roots. what Finn is telling you is the most important thing of all!!!

PLANT STRUGGLIN HELP so i have 3 plants in my closet under cfls. 2 clones 1 seed. ive been doing everything exactly the same to all of them but i woke up this morning to see one of my clones leafs turning yellow and brown and drooping. even the stem is turning a little brown. this plant does only have 1 cfl over it. my other clone has 2 cfls. is this because lack of light?? okay so i bought the miracle gro perlite and mixed in about 1/3 of it with 2/3 of my original soil. the only thing i am a little worried about is when i was transplanting them to another pot to add the perlite, i noticed some of the roots on the very bottom snapped off.

QUESTIONS
what will happen to my plants now that i snapped some of their roots?
is it going to go into shock?
i watered them 2 days ago and transplanted today. should i water them now?

damn man, your plant is gonna die. sorry dude....

j/k. lol. your plant will be fine! seriously. when you break roots off they only grow back bigger and stronger. if you put them in a substantial amount of new soil then you might want to give them some water to help them settle in. either way, they'll be fine.

fasho thanks, i might wait a day or two on the watering cuz one of mine is drooping a little. the soil is very moist all the way through as well.

With cloning, you don't want to feed the foliage, you want the formation of roots. Ditch the Superthrive, keep the enviornment and soil humid, (humidity dome or cover) do not feed the unrooted clones ANYTHING except properly ph'd water, and do not spray the leaves...they have a tendency to mold or rot.

The leaf yellowing (and die-off) is the plant realizing it need the nutrients, and she's scavenging those nutrients from the leaves. This is absolutely normal. She is using those nutrients to produce the roots. If you feed the leaves, the roots are treated like an unnecessary bother, and may not form.

MG soil is a tad tricky. But MG isn't a mega-nutrient rich soil. It's a slow steady release, and I've cloned many, many plants in it.

Do not blast with full-on lighting. Raise the lights, which lowers the heat. Again...you are trying to grow the underground stuff, not the above-ground stuff. Just enough light to keep her (them) alive.

But sooner or later you're going to have to learn proper technique and the basics.

If you want to get defensive, that's your gig. However, in the long run...they're not my plants that are suffering.

im not getting defensive im juss sayin what im doing. and i do know the basics
your guys help is greatly appreciated
its just hard to grow without all the shit i need. im very low on money so im basically doing it the cheapest way possible.

yea thats what the bud tender from the club told me to do. my roots were down to the bottom of the pot when i did it so i dont think its bad for it or anything
