Plant is breaking!!! And, one not flowering!
Id try better at tie the bigger branches up before they break. As far as it recovering? They are very strong so maybe tie the broken branches back in place the best you can a use masking tape to bond it in place.
As far as the light goes I have the same problem as I have a flood light in my back yard which my wife wants on at night no matter what. Maybe divert the light with something like you said but rather then cover it maybe make a leanto of sorts to block it at night.
