I had this happen to me once. I tried several different things, cal mag, Epsom salt, but I think the problem was inconsistent watering. I don't think the lower roots were getting enough water. As soon as I upped my water amount the problem went away. I don't give enough to cause runoff but I do like to see some condensation at the bottom of the pot.

i dont think its from watering. i give each plant enough water to see about 20-30% runoff. then water again when the soil get pretty dry but not completely. i do this to collect the runoff for testing to make sure my soil ph stays stable.
any other suggetstions?

Kinda looks like light bleaching from here, but hard to see with the pics under the hps.
Also, I would transplant soon into a 5 gallon container. 3 gals are too small for plants from seed. Also your ph going in is 6.5, coming out is 6, so the ph of the soil is less than 6. Could see some lockout soon.

they are in their dark cycle now but if it would be more helpful i could take new pics under cfls when the lights come back on.
thanks for the input guys:thumbsup:
BTW if anyone would be so kind to stop by my grow log and give some feedback on how its going so far it would be greatly appreciated:smokebong:

to add one more thing....this happened right after i switched to 12/12. could that have anything to do with it?

Yeah try and get some pics with normal lighting.
Since you just transplanted from dixie cups to 3 gals they aren't rootbound and should have plenty of lime left, but I guess it really depends on how much lime you put there in the first place. Maybe in the meantime you can make another soil mix and test the run-off.
About your ph testing, do you have a digital pen or color coded strips/drops? If the water you test has any color it can throw off the test results.
Based on your last reply I still think it's light bleaching, but will wait for the pics when you get a chance. I don't see how switching to 12/12 had anything to do with it.

all was good though and the plants look great. no problems really except the top leaves yellowing. the light isnt even that close to the plants maybe 2 feet away. i read that you can have problems with bleaching if they are really close.
anyway ill put some pics up later tonight and well discuss it some more.
thanks for dropping by:jointsmile:

Possibly got a burn in the transplant process.... Maybe too many nutes...... Maybe light burn - but your light is not that close. I think I would just do nothing more than water at this point and see what happens....if it is damage it is already too late and doing a bunch of stuff can make it worse.
