We will be renovating our frontpage of our site eventually,

Please list the various features you have always wished existed for the frontpage of the website

Any and all suggestions will be looked at and hopefully we can select a few to be implemented.

Lets work together to make this a site we as a community can be all proud of!

Hi sundance I have been at this site for a while now and do appreciate you having it. But the one thing I find lacking is the ability to pm someone when you have a comment for that person only. would appreciate it if you would consider adding that feature thank you.

To be honest I never go to the front page...

LOL...me too. In fact, until just now I was unaware that there was a separate "front page", so I scrolled up to the top of this forum thread page and clicked on the cannabis.com link.

To tell you the truth, Sundance, I was underwhelmed. There is a static menu on the left side, down which I scrolled and scrolled and scrolled...

Oh, and a big "Log In Here" section right smack in the center. Login? Sure enough, it did not recognize my login status from the forum. I'm not really an internet expert, but I'm guessing that the home page and the forum are on two different servers that don't recognize each others' logins? No biggie, but after looking at the front page I'm asking myself why I'd ever go there?

The forum threads imply that this is a medical cannabis forum, but as someone points out above, that is not very evident from the headliner. Members are pretty good about stopping random drug talk here, but maybe a bit more explicit headliner would help.

And here's another vote for PMs. After reading this thread I think I understand why it's not active, but I would just point out that you are no more liable for what folks PM to each other than the phone company is about what folks talk to each other about the phone. OTOH, IANAL, so what do I know?

Concrete front page suggestion? Make the medical aspect of this site more explicit.

Okay, just a few impressions from a complete newbie. Hope they are helpful, and thanks for the great website!

Besides the obvious spam problems that could arise from the PM system being activated (This is why I just list my IM screen names in my profile so they show up in my header bar of every post I make,) this could also add a large amount of overhead on the database and the bandwidth, putting undue strain on the server hardware and affecting overall site performance. This would also likely make the nightly downtime take more than the typical hour, possibly doubling that time, leaving the site accessible for only 22 hours a day.

I've been on the forum for several years now and I never even knew I could "log in" to the front page. I just now did for yuks and I see I can fill out this info ...

I mentioned in another thread giving out awards to members, nothing special just something by their name, like most helpful, community award, and every month a new person gets it, or every 3 months.

I think the friends thing might be due to different software services for the front boards and then the forums themselves, and they're not linked to a common database.
