Medical marijuana: Does using $9 million in fees for budget shortfall screw MMJ patients? - Denver News - The Latest Word

Seems to me this is a great thing - the more people realize that the MMJ laws help everyone and fund everything, the better chance we have of the laws sticking around.

then they should legalize and tax it.
this is theft. that money is supposed to fund the program. They are still many months behind.
If the $90 fee is too much, it should be lowered. Colorado patients should not be funding 'other stuff' with these fees.Colorado patient grower. :rambohead:

What a joke this has all become.
I'm not so sure it's a good thing, 5280. Once the State gets a taste of the profit from this game they may very well decide that you and I have no REASON to grow our own, citing plentiful access in the MMC's where THEY GET A CUT of the profits.
IMO, they are on the way to shutting down the home grows and taking this completely to a regulated program. Look at what is goin down in Michigan. I'll wager heavily they have watched the CO model explode into chaos and illegal sales/patients and such laws are a reaction to what is happening here. Once a program such as that is enacted Colorado will look to them for guidance/a fix to their own mess. Prescription MMJ is coming. The State will get fuckin rich!
The fee for a license was $110 at the onset. It then dropped to $90 as more patients signed on. Total patients on the Registry @ the time, 3000'ish.
With the huge influx prices should have dropped again. however, with the raiding of the fund...how much you wanna bet the cost will INCREASE next year because there's now a shortfall in the MMJ coffer? Fuckers!
the State wants us to abide by the laws but they don't have to?
yeah, sure thing!
