    Puting animals down(Your Opinon)

i had no chioce i had to put my beautiful 5 yr old black lab down he had cancer and we didnt even know it until it was all through him. he had no symtoms until the end in fact he was a little overweight until the end ."the end" only took 2 -3 weeks! it was devastating but it had to be done,he really suffered the nite before we did it. we took him to the vet and he went very quietly, i sang "over the rainbow"(tried and cried) to him as he passed.

i had one die from cancer after it 1st took her spleen. she was in much pain and took her in for tests and pics which showed cancerous tumors throughout her abdoman. the vet removed her spleen and sent her home for another 6 months of living life and enjoying everything around her. we could have put her down then but she acted like it wasn't quite time yet...we had a great last 6 months together before the inevitable had to be done. what i'm getting at is, is he telling you he's ready now or is he still enjoying things? then the question is...can you afford to keep him comfortable during his end time?
it's always hard and you have my sincere sympathy...but if he's still enjoying his world, enjoy him while ya can...

we had to put our cocker spaniel down last year, he was 16 yrs old. we've had him his intire life. i'm 48 and i cried like a baby, he was part of the family. it,s a very hard decision to make when they have been a part of your family for so long. you'll make the right choice.

i personally cant bear to see animals put down.....but i guess if its in pain then it should be put to sleep....(why cant we do the same to humans when they can even give us consent if they wanted???)

On the other hand....i dont like seeing animals just being "pets".....what would happen to your dog if it was in the wild.....

no seriously u guys are like "no, we cant put down animals like this, blah blah blah". cmon, i mean, all the fuckin meat we all eat are animals, raised in a 6footx6foot box during their hole life. i mean, that we can call it a crime. just visit a farm i find it kinda gross. they feed em shit and they cant move fer their entire life. we have no more respect for living being.

after all, we are animals, i dont understand why we use the reason "the have no feelings" to give em a such treatment. awww, anyway, life is so complicated lol

I think it shows good sense that you think for the dog enough penguin. Its you and your families call though.
But as a owner of many dogs might as well throw in my opinion. If the tumor is cancerous, put him to sleep. If not you may want to try to remove it. It is much more complicated, and even if you remove it he will have to be put down soon cause he is obviously in poor health. So it seems fair to the old guy to let him go to doggy heaven, which is probably a place with lots of cats to chase and smoked salmon and beef jerkey for the taking.
