As I've stated in the "no on prop 19" thread: Prop 19 is designed for the purpose of making money for the govt. They try to shine that up with lies about how they will put the money from taxing mj into schools, and how the bill will cut down on illegal immigration. Yet it does nothing to help people already in jail for mj related offenses, nor does it make possession of or sales of seeds legal.

It's just too flawed a piece of legislation. The percentage of californians who support the legalization of marijuana, and the percentage of likely voters who support prop 19 are two completely separate numbers.

One thing people need to know and admit is that this bill would not make California the smokers paradise, and that prices for legally purchased mj would skyrocket, while quality plummets. This can be countered if you grow your own in your government allotted 4'x4' area which you will likely only be able to fit one medium sized plant, per parcel.

I would equate prop 19 to an impulse purchace. Sure it looks good and fun, but is it really a good idea to buy it. And once you've got it, you're stuck with it.
