Seed Problem Please reply and help
ok so i have just about everything to start my first grow but one little question i havent got an exect answer on from anywhere........... When i first plant my seed, how must i plant it in the soil?/ Like in which way must the seed be?/ Which side goes to the top, bottom, horizontal, etc.?
A picture of how the seed should be put in would be wonderful, but a detailed description would be great!midzz420 Reviewed by midzz420 on . It depends really. Are you germinating the seed before planting it?
Or are you just putting it straight into the soil?
If you're germinating it before planting, you want the taproot pointing downward.
I always plant my seeds in soil without germinating and have had great success so far.
I just drop them in there though and they always find their way.
You want to plant the seed about half an inch below the surface of the soil.
It also helps to have it a little humid so i would recommend putting some plastic wrap over the top of the container until you see the sprout break through the surface of the soil.
Hope i helped:jointsmile:

Planting straight to soil is just fine. Germination in paper towels is my preferred way because I know what's alive and dead and I don't want to waste light, space or soil. But either way you should get results.
