Just a quickie oilve oil question...

So i have about 3g of high quality product ground to a dust and mixed with about 4-6oz extra virgin olive oil. I have been allowing it to leech in the oil for about 2 weeks as i dont have a urge to use it.

I have been told it needs to be heated for something called dicarbonylation or something to occur (basically xfr the non-psycho's to psychoactive chemicals)

    My question is this

If i just set my skillet on the stove set to low with the oil/canna in it for 5 minutes (till the oil pops) then drain it back into the bottle, can i then use it on a deli sandwich or cook it into some other edible item... or even straight

Thanks in advance for your help.... hope to see some familiar faces..

Like true BBQ, low and slow is the usual recommended method. Perhaps almost an hour on low. You don't want to get the oil so hot it's popping and smoking or the THC will evaporate. At least that what I've read and my Ghiradelli brownies never disappoint. :food10:

from what i have read (at least when it comes to oven drying) you should'nt go above 300'F. I do not know what the boiling point of olive oil is so i dont really know how that relates.......:stoned:

but low and slow will be the entire mantra of this little endeavor and i figure one day way off in the future im hoping to put an oz. or 2 on a subway club and eat it that way and go on to work

anyone else ever used olive oil in their extraction/oil, or any tips?

    Thanks,

From this list of your particular oils smoke point we can assume if your oil is smoking you are already too hot for the THC to evaporate and be lost.

P.s. This post should be nominated for a sticky!

Note: Smoke point ranges can vary wildly based on many different factors.

Just a quickie oilve oil question...

Well thanks for your help so very much....

I have actually choosen to speed up the BBQ a bit.....lol

i setup a double boil with water and olive oil (leeched oil i mentioned earlier). I allowed a 45 min simmer @ 212'F which is waters boiling point.

Olive oil did not come close to smoking but the particles of product did start moving around in the oil.

allowed to sit on stove 8 hrs to cool and ive just bought a subway chicken breast footlong.. i put about 1oz. of the oil on 6 inches of sub (this is an aquired taste even if the oil doesnt smell.. dont be fooled)

im T-15 minutes from ingestion and still have like 1.5 inch of that 1st 6 inch to still eat.. ill finish it once ive typed this..

PS. i have NOT smoked ANYTHING today so far....... so well give it another 45 mins then ill eat another 6 inch with another 1oz if this doesnt kick in

*feeling alittle disoriented but im assuming its placebo being its only been 15 mins since indigestion*

-Everyones welcome...... hop on in the post!!

Thanks again for all the help, ill keep this updated as i get sedated...lol

Just a quickie oilve oil question...

    T+ 1.40 hrs

Not placebo, I feel mildly stoned... very wierd because you can feel it not only in the head but much more in the body....

my eyes feel dropped but my mouth isnt dry.. Im getting the chuckles typing this...

I actually realized i was high when i was holding my pipe about to smoke about 10 minutes ago, but it was like i didnt want to hit the pipe because i was already smoked out... then i realized that i havent smoked ALL DAY

and now im sitting here....... pipe still not lit.... feeling "mildly" stoned

but its a good mild, its stong enough that i actually know what its from (as its a familiar feeling) but not too intense

i could actually suppliment with a puff or 2 for a heightened "peak" but this is nice

just listening to CAKE... considering a toke as a dessert to this high

as of now i can say that this method works and does ROCK!!!

3 grams KB= 4 oz of finished unstrained product
    1oz. Consumed on 6inch sub
approx 0.7gr canna consumed by volume in one sitting
    Well done!

PS: i have some gnarly hiccups right now.... maybe related

LOL, nice. Anyone can do the old brownie thing, maybe even choco chip cookies from butter.... But no. You take a nice big foot long sub, smothered it with nice flavored EVOO and then went to town on it. :eat: Dude, I like your style and applaud you!

I think the standard dose is 1 gram per "snack". I think also a smaller snack (and not a full stomach) would make it work better. Just food for thought. Thanks for the chronicle of your experiment. Nicely done.
