Looking for advice on how to select the rite 420 friendly landlord.
If I have posted in the wrong area please feel free to relocate my post.
As it states above I am looking to rent a house, but I don't want to rent from a landlord who is not 420 friendly. Any suggestions, thoughts, or concerns are greatly appreciated. You've just got to be honest with them. I would think that you could set up an appt. for anyplace you are considering renting and then just bring it up in casual conversation. "Oh wow! Look at that storage room under the stairs. That would make a pretty good grow room." If he has a positive reaction, you're good to go. Maybe even work out a trade with him! If negative, then you don't want him as your landlord anyway. I'm assuming you have your card?
I have a buddy that lives in Crescent City and he said the for rent ads up there quite often state one way or the other. Good luck!:smokin:

Looking for advice on how to select the rite 420 friendly landlord.
I am not only a Real Estate Broker (over thirty years now), but I am also a landlord.
I care about two things, in this order: My property will not be abused, and the rent will be paid ON TIME (no excuses). I think that most landlords are the same.
I don't care about monitoring your sexual habits, I don't care about your marital status, how you get high if at all, how much pain you have, what meds you take and how or why, etc. Those are all personal things that I don't care about - and I don't want to know. Really. None of my business - and I have ALL I can do to mind MY business.
The ONLY thing I care about is getting my money and not having to do repairs and take you to court when you move out.
IF you can show me that your hobbies don't tear up my property - and that they may even provide income to help pay the rent ON TIME, I have no complaint.
Be upfront. Be honest. Invite them to see where and how you live now. Show him (if he wants) that you have been growing for X years indoors, and there is no damage. Show him a letter from your current LL saying that you're a good tenant.
You'll find a home easier than you think.
And, if he says no - you didn't want to rent from him anyway. A business deal has to be agreed upon, all disclosures made - and it has to be mutually benificial. Think about how your 'hobby' is good for the landlord, and show him how it is to his advantage to rent to you - and he will..
Just because I\'m paranoid, doesn\'t mean they\'re not out to get me.
