Flowering plants. How do I know if they are flowering well?

Happymedicine > do not use to much molasses, overfeeding molasses can severely damage your plant.

I was wondering if my bubbleberry was supposed to have yellowing leaves during flowering, or if this could be due to the molasses? The pic should be linked below, if I attached it right

Also, should I cut my lower foliage off so that the top half of the plant gets all of the energy directed to it?
