don't trim the leaves, this is where the plant gets the nutrients and energy needed to produce the buds. patience my friend.

I'll confuse you some more Joey...I likely intend to prune this time around. I'll show you what I am dealing with, to put things into perspective: this is where your supposed to look at the pictures. Now tell me you wouldn't prune that. From what I learned you prune all but the top 6 main branches and this causes the plant to focus it's energy on just growing what's on top. You likely wont have this problem, but I can assure you that on my plants, I started to see branches at the bottom 2"'s of the plant growing along the wall and competing with top branches. GIVE ME A BREAK. They are all white, flimsy and weak, cut that shit. Again, I'm not quite sure what to tell you since your plants don't look like mine, but if I see this shit again on my next grow, I will be learning how to prune and quite aggressively it would seem. I totally fucked this crop up. The middle plant was part hermie as it turns out and pollinated the entire crop before I figured out wtf I was doing. I also let them get too tall. How do you trim back a plant in height when it's the top part you really want? Not like you can take a section out the middle. I wont be letting them get this tall either.

How about a partial approach? For those big healthy leaves that are "just in the way" perhaps a pinch, bend and tuck would be much less stressful and still leave the leaf to do at least some of it's job.

LOL!! Funny how you made a special note to look at the pix with little text. I actually LOL'ed!!

BTW, Prodaytrader, you got a grow log on that? IMHO, even though you are in early flower a "super crop" technique may still pay off. Last time, at about your stage, had a few tall tops too. They got a pinch and a bend to make a kink like a garden hose. Don't touch for 3-4 days (don't keep bending and re-bending, just once) and if it stands up bend it again in another area after it heals some. Turns out those are the biggest thickest buds on the whole plant! Hey, maybe just give it a test on the biggest one or two. (this is where I should take some pix, prolly later)

i wasnt thinking of just pruning the leaves that are always there im talking about the leaves that form in the buds. theres just too many and i feel like its taking up space for the buds. and yeah i have the top set of leaves so its all good i chopped off all the leaves below the middle and i cut two more today. but im stag growing it which means u cut it inhalf when u harvest and let the bottom half grow nice and tall and poduce more bud. some ppl take like 3 inches off of theres to try getting every single bud u pick be as potent as the top.

You could still just pinch, ben, or other wise twist those upper bud leaves out of the way if they are casting a big shadow on a nice bud under it. Like most, I'd recommend not to remove them until they are more yellow than green. :greenthumb:

Hey, who knows, maybe they are bursting with leaves because you trimmed off several of the lower ones? Just a theory... :detective1:

yeah it could be that i trimed most of them. but i was told it will increase the buds on the top and let the bottom grow taller stems where the other budsites are and it worked.and its not so much that the buds arent getting sun more that i feel like i dont need the leaves in the buds but i dont think imma touch it. i cant be messing it up. its my first succesful grow.

That crop is long gone and in the end I did play around with bending as I never did prune them. Since they were pollinated they never did developed anything much of a kola. It was all shit in the end. Mostly, I wasn't sure how tall they would get as such I started flowering too late. I think u have already seen my current crop and this time around I will be starting flowering much earlier. In fact I will likely start them on 12/12 this weekend or possibly Monday.

you should definatly make hash. let them hermies grow. idk how and i dont know why but males can make hash and hermies are still good if ur thinking about getting a new bread of weed. put it into flowering for like a good three months as big as u can get them. hermies are fine to smoke as long as u get out all the seeds. and lets say {as an example} if u have a Grandaddy purp female and a piff male. u will get a mix of granddaddy and piff in the seeds. and will take traits of both plants. also hermie weed really isnt that bad if it was a bomb plant and from what i remember on ur the pics there indica i beleive thats why there so bushy. sell it if u want but dont throw them out. all that time wasted isnt worth just throwing them out cause there hermie.ya no what i mean. keep me posted.
