    Another UA Story

Here's my deal: I'm a white male in my mid 30s who has been a daily smoker for about 10+ years now. I'm 5'10" about 200 lbs who hasn't been working out a lot lately. You know the rest of the story, got a job interview and an offer contingent upon a UA.

Looks like the test will be some time this week (it's Tuesday now but I'm hoping I can push it back to next week) and I smoked as recently as Sunday. I did a joint-a-thon last Friday from which I'm still feeling a little high.

I figured that going with dilution or some similar method is probably pointless since I've smoked so recently and have been a chronic smoker for a number of years. So I purchased some Quick Fix 5.7.

Of course, I'm nervous as hell. Mostly about getting the temperature right. How difficult is it to calibrate the temperature on these things and keep it (mostly) constant?

Can I get some advice from people who have used QF in the past? Thanks!

It's pretty simple if you use your body as a heat source. Crouching it or strapping it to the inside of your thigh(where i put it) will keep your temp at 96-98 degrees. Just warm the QF for 10 seconds in the microwave, attach the hand warmer to one side and stick the other side right up to your skin.

You may want to purchase a baby thermometer to monitor temperature. It's just a little more accurate than the one attached to the bottle. Just practice heating and crouching it. You can reheat the QF as many times as you like.

    Thanks for the advice!

It looks like I won't have to take the UA until next week some time. This gives me a few more days to exercise (ie. sweat a lot) and try to purify my system. I'm going to buy a home test over the weekend and see if I can pass that. If so, I'll just use my own urine when I take the test. Otherwise I'm going to take my chances with the Quick Fix.

I've read conflicting things about Quest Diagnostics and other places testing if the urine is synthetic or not, so I'd like to use the QF as a last resort.

The only state we've been hearing this from is Oregon. Labs there are not following protocol. If your anywhere else you should be fine.

My screen isn't until Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. At which point it will have been 8 or 9 days without smoking.

If I take a home test over the weekend and pass it, is there any chance of still failing the lab test?

It's a little frustrating because since I found out that I had to take a test I've been abstaining and all I've wanted to do is smoke! Part of me is tempted to say "f' it", smoke and just use the QF. But I'm worried and would rather use the real stuff if I can.

Please let me know how you do on your screen and good luck!

    ugu,

You will fail the home test most likely, everyone is different but you are looking at 14-21 days probably before you pee clean. Possibly longer since you have been a chronic. I know one guy who still failed after 30 days of no smoke with similar stats to yours.
