I have only heard this on this site and cannot believe that we have to do this until we have to renew our cards.
An MMC might want to chime in here.

I've seen other MMCs advertise this and it's confusing to patients.

Here's my understanding:

Pre HB10-1284, an MMC could take patients on as a caregiver.

Post HB10-1284, an MMC is no longer considered a caregiver.

I think some MMCs are scrambling because they still have the Pre HB10-1284 paperwork showing them as a caregiver for patients. They can't be a 'caregiver' and are probably trying to get their license count & 70% grow requirements balanced out.

This does not pertain to patients that have assigned a private (non MMC) caregiver.
