tore a limb off from stalk...will plant survive or will limb survive?
well using a vacuum in the growtent to suck up debris was not the brightest idea....
it sucked up a string that was tied LST to a limb....its 2 weeks into flower
cut the node off the limb and put it in cloning gel then put it in another pot...hope it roots...should it be in 12/12 or in veg?
also how will the plant above the ripped off limb be affected?
the ripped limb area is covered now with a piece of paper towel...wanted to black the light from getting to it..but wont the papertowel absorb the nutes?
or are either of them worth saving?HMBigBUd Reviewed by HMBigBUd on . tore a limb off from stalk...will plant survive or will limb survive? well using a vacuum in the growtent to suck up debris was not the brightest idea.... it sucked up a string that was tied LST to a limb....its 2 weeks into flower cut the node off the limb and put it in cloning gel then put it in another pot...hope it roots...should it be in 12/12 or in veg? also how will the plant above the ripped off limb be affected? the ripped limb area is covered now with a piece of paper towel...wanted to black the light from getting to it..but wont the Rating: 5

tore a limb off from stalk...will plant survive or will limb survive?
lol It's all my bad. I was trying to clean and i didnt realize there was a LST string hanging down.. when the vac rolled over it the string got tangled in the roller brush and ripped the branch right off. We were pretty upset because it was a pretty good bud site. We are more worried about saving the big plant more then we are worried about saving the branch. any suggestions?
Pic 1: Us trying to save the broken branch
Pic 2: We took a little bit paper towel and rapped it around it so it wouldnt try out.
Pic 3 & 4 : close ups of damage

I'd remove the paper towel (collects bacteria and molds) and let the wound dry and heal. Should be fine, but she might be a slower grower for a while.
If keeping the shoot for clone, veg it under an 18/6 lighting schedule (or so) and raise the lights a tad. (for clone only)
Perhaps a Swiffer Duster would be a better idea in the future.

hahaha yeah a swiffer might be a better option next time. I took the paper towel off and its looking fine. the wounds dried up and it has had no effect on the rest of the plant.

Being that far along in flower the clone will be slow to take root and re-veg even if put under 18-6 so have patience with it if you are determined to keep it.
Leaving it under 12-12 it'll eventually root, but it'll take even LONGER to start growing again.
As you've already seen the now "Mother" plant will recover fine. Just watch for signs of potential parasite/mold infection on the wound.
