My friend just harvested and found some seeds. They look promising, but how long do they have to dry before they can be planted?

you can't really put an exact time on it. viable seeds are usually mottled brown/light brown or even slightly green. Light green solid tone seeds are usually immature and won't sprout. try soaking the seeds in water for 24 hours, those that sink when touched after that period should sprout.
