It's certainly worth a try. I had a plant a few months ago that I cut all the buds off of by about day 35, because I was desperate and had nothing else to smoke. After that it was pretty streatched out and didn't have much leaves, but I put it back on 24 hour light and about a week later some new growth started coming out on the bottom. Now it's a couple feet tall and REALLY bushy, and ready to start flowering again soon.
