bcnl producer mod with led lights
I want to know if anyone has done this yet with their box?
I was thinking of taking out the ballast abd bulbs and replacing them with either a larger model of this double the size the just dropped.
PPF-800 LED GROW LIGHT - 180 Watt
or two of these
Hydro Grow LED
any ideas, feedback, anyone done?
Would you sit it on the glass, or need to drill holes in the top to hang them?chunkynugs Reviewed by chunkynugs on . bcnl producer mod with led lights I want to know if anyone has done this yet with their box? Haight Solid State, again.
Automotive LEDs are HORRIBLE for growing. There are 2w diodes brighter than the 6w diodes used in automotive tail lights.
The reason Haight used the Automotive diodes is so they could get away without using fans and such to make such a small panel - the price you pay for higher reliability is lower efficiency as the diodes heat up and the output drastically begins to drop.
Also, the 610nm and white in the panels are wasteful.
You're better off with the HydroGrow lamps. Though I will say that IR most certainly is not necessary. The diodes heating up on their own will produce and emit IR.

well there is the glass panel, would i be able to set them on that?
if not can I mount them on the top of the box and leave the glass in, or would it need to be put on a pulley system to drop it lower when they are small and in veg?
