    PC Grow Box

Wondering if anyone has an opinion on these. Looking for 2 for a friend. He has very limited space. 1 box to veg and another to flower. He only needs a half ounce a month but wants to grow himself under his mj card. Thinking cfl's 2-3 100w equivalent per box.

i JUST do not understand the recent bent towards PC. The whole world is going PC crazy. I mean, ya can't say "Look at that black guy". Hell, you gotta say "African American gent" or some PC crap like that.

"That chick has nice hooters." NO. Not PC enough. "That young lady has very healthy lungs" ... eh?

    ...........

My wife just looked over my shoulder what what I writ up there ... *blush*.

    Never mind.

Is a PC grow box more PC than using an aero grow or the fridge?

I built my own. Worked like a champ until I had some heat and nute issues.

But at a rate of needing a 1/2oz a month, you're going to need more than two of those. One for mom/clones, and depending upon strain two to four others for a flower SoG rotation that would keep this person in a steady supply.

Thats what I was thinking. A pc box would work for clones and go with a larger cabinet style setup to flower which might fit 4 plants with 2 flowering per month?

    That should work.

I'm going to redo my box soon enough. Or make a new one. The current PC box is being used for clones and a recovering pitcher plant.

Doesn't need to be too complicated to yield enough for that. Growing from seed you can get 2 oz. per plant in 4 months pretty easily. That's what I got in a cabinet 22.5" x 22.5" x 67.5" with a poor yielding strain (2 trainwrecks - 2nd grow link in my sig) and screwed up the nutes. Used a 400w hps, a little overkill for that space. Needed a cooltube and fan etc. to keep temps in range. The smoke was still good in the end.

What kind of space and budget restrictions are we talking about?

Looking at CFL's 26w draw and 100w actual light prob 3 per box.
Either these colors or plain white. Maybe put 1 blue and red in their respective boxes?
6500K(blueish light) for vegging and 2700K(reddish light) for flowering

Don't go by the wattage. 4 x 26w cfls (4 x 100w equivalent) does not equal a 400w hps, not even half of a 250w. Cfl's are also notorious for slow growth and producing light, wispy, and no-so potent buds when there aren't enough of them. They also need to be repositioned often as they are only effective a couple inches from the plant.

Also why have many boxes when you can accomplish what you want in one?

I'd say look into a 250w hps from the start, but some people need to learn from their own mistakes

I might go with the same setup as my buddy, he is fine with ok quality. For me to start growing the compact box might work. Give it a year learning from mistakes and getting the basics down then goto a legal 5x5 with hps or led if the quality and price comes down in the next year or so. Start small :rasta:

Two boxes, 1 to have constant clones and the other to flower.
