I also disagree with him on his position regarding drilling for domestic oil, a mentality he seems to share with republicans, and which I find upsetting.

Obama has messed up a bunch, and yes, we are way in debt, but I still think he is doing a decent job under the circumstances. I'm just in favor of giving the guy to the end of his first term before I give the "yay or nay", cause he had a mess o' trouble waiting for him the second he stepped into the oval office and he's had to spend his whole term thus far shoveling shit, some of which he contributed sure, but I'd still like to see what he can do with a little support from We The People.
I hear ya.....I really do. I think a significant defeat at the ballots in November will give Obama a better shot at improving his approval rating.....if he can pull a Clinton I really don't know.....right now anyway....I dont see it in him. Which is fine ya know.....he's a man of his own priciple and ya gotta respect that....but I just dont see him becoming a very good centrist when by all appearances he is a far left guy..to a centrist like me anyway. Right now.......I will NOT be voting for Obama again.

It's funny that you say he is too far left, as many of the true "far left", myself being on the centerist edge of that group, find him too soft and are upset that he seems to be placating the republicans with drilling for oil, and other such "bridgebuilding activities". He has imo turned out to be way right of the guy he campaigned as, and if you don't buy into the "he reformed healthcare and bailed out everyone so the government could run it and turn us to socialism" spindoctoring, he hasn't really done much for the liberal left, and in fact is losing everyones respect, right and left by his heeldragging.

But... I still love the ole goofball, cause he's lean, he's mean, and he's not a republican.
