    CFL Grow. tips?

This is my 3 time growing  and im doing it all indoors this time, i have 6 26 watt cfl's on 2 double topped krippy plants. Is it enough light? plants are 7 1/2 weeks old, flowering soon. They are beautiful girls, just wondering if more light might be needed for flowering. Any tips or input would be greatly appreciated.

At 7 1/2 weeks old they're likely pretty tall. You will definitely wish to add some more light.

Actually they aren't that tall, all under 9 in'', but I do have them trained down to the edge of the pots to allow the under-foliage to get more light, and staggered the bigger fan leaves for the same reason. So if they were standing straight prolly 10-11 in". Jus put them in their current pots under a week ago from 5x5 1/2's to 9x10 1/2's. But my question is how much more light? like 2 or 3 lights? Appreciate the input though , I'll post some more recent pics of them here soon. :hippy:

That short, even once trained, is pretty short for nearly two months. Sounds like you might have had some other issues along the way, perhaps?

If they're that small, though, odds are you won't need to add too much more lighting at all. I was expecting at two months from seed for you to have at least a 24" tall plant.

A 24" tall plant might be possible using a MH, but my experience is that using a cfl will not provide enough lumens to do what your asking.

khyberkitsune, I've found LED lights to be greatly under-powered for Cannibus flowering. Can you give us your thoughts on this subject and what might be new and improved!

I am not an expert by anymeans. I have used nothing but cfl's in all 4 of my gardens. From seed to full bloom. There are different color cfl's, a warm and almost orange color, and a bright almost blue color.

Home depot, lowe's both sell a huge, 68 watt (300 watt replacement) 4200 lumen 2700k light bulb, that fits a standard lamp/light socket (see photo).
The photo is not the bulbs i use, but almost exactly the same, only mine states the specs above, the specs for the one that is photo'd are as follows:
65w, 3900 lumens, 2700k. The newer version of this bulb is what i have, it is a couple bucks more, but none the less you get the idea!

The bulbs may not fit in a standard fixture as these bulbs are freakin huge! standard socket yes, standard fixture....depends on the design of the fixture.

And yes, any extra light will always be beneficial during flowering, when using cfl's!

    hope that helps:rastasmoke:

fyi: I use 10 of these, and can keep temps right at 80* with the lamps less than 6" inches from the tops of the plant's! And have to flower after 4 or 4.5 wk veg, or they get to BIG too fast!

Dantej, that was a little bit more clear and thank you. I have pics up of the plants If there is any question in size. :hippy:

    Thanks everybody for the tips

24" tall in two months is done under CFL fairly regularly, both from clone and from seed.

LED being under-powered? Only partially true. The biggest failure of LED panels is wasting energy in the least efficient wavelengths (eleven bands is a total waste when there's only 4 main photosynthetic peaks) and then they are usually made in the most improper ratios of red and blue.

I've got nice hard buds growing under LEDs and a fairly bare minimum of nutes. No wispy stuff here until you get closer to the bottom of the plants. Some colas are as big around as my D-cell flashlight. What used to smell like black pepper now has a much sweeter smell, and the buds on touch alone are extremely sticky.

And the amount of trichomes produced are lovely.

    CFL Grow. tips?

I went onto 1000bulbs.com and found all the lighting accessories you will ever need to grow anything lol I ended up spending about 140$ so it did put a nice dent in my wallet but from what I have heard it is going to be to my benefit on the electric bill and also the temperature so with that being said.. what I bought was 4 bulbs in all along with cords n stuff so I bought 2 400watt 2700k bulbs.. and 2 400watt 6500k bulbs.. im hoping that will be sufficient for just 1-2 plants growing at a time.. i was thinking about also buying 1 500watt 4100k bulb just for that extra OOMPH when she starts to flower up..but i still got about 4 weeks before she starts to dress up for me.. can you give me any pointers?? it would be appreciated.. this is my FIRST cfl grow.. i have an autoflower that just started.. and a chocolate heaven haze that is about 2 weeks in..any good fertalizers or lighting.. watering.. cropping.. tips for me.. i was thinking of super cropping..where you bend the top over instead of cutting.. fill me in folks.. im open to all suggestions and willing to try just about anything once if it will make the harvest better.. thanks guys!

    Welcome Pit,
First, you should not post into another person's thread and 'highjacking it'.
Second, you did catch my interest with the 400 and 500 watt bulbs. What are these? CFL, or what? I didn't see any cfl that size on 1000bulbs site.
Third, All the general assistance questions you asked can be found in the FAQs and you can read the sub-forums where people post their grows. Indoor, outdoor, CFL, LED, you'll find it. That's why some of us post our grow logs.

    Apologies to Prof. Greene.
I just finished a grow where the plants were no more than 12" high at the end of 33 days veg and 8 weeks flowering. As the Professor did, I double cropped very early on. It was a successful grow with a good yield. Good Luck Prof.
