Umm...wanna try that first sentence again? No clue what you're saying.

Try scuffing the seed before drowning it or placing in a paper towel.
If you plant the seed directly, or the night after it sinks...a few things are likely to happen.
A) the seed was still too stubborn and won't pop.
B) the seed (after planting) can get disturbed (watering, bumping the cups...) and actually migrate deeper into the medium, or down the side of the cup...never to be seen again.

Both of these problems cause up to 2 weeks of needless waiting around for results before abandoning the seeds. It truly sucks when planting for 6 pots, but only 1 or 2 break ground. Throws-off the entire process.

I used to do the float 'em till they sink thing before getting to know the (unbleached) paper towel thing, which is much quicker and reliable if you are looking at predictable results and timeframes.
Rusty Trichome Reviewed by Rusty Trichome on . Seed Problem from Nirvana Not Sprouting Hey guys so i bought 10 white widow seeds from Nirvana and they arrived very quickly and discrete. I germinated them all in paper towel on a dish covered with saran wrap so humidity would stay high. They all germinated very well within 48-72 hours. I then put them all in rockwool and only 3/10 have signs of any seedlings after 4 days in the rockwool. I have CFL on them and proper ventilation. 1 of the 3 that sprouted the seed is coming up so i know that one will be ok. the others u can just Rating: 5
