Seed Problem from Nirvana Not Sprouting

Hey guys so i bought 10 white widow seeds from Nirvana and they arrived very quickly and discrete. I germinated them all in paper towel on a dish covered with saran wrap so humidity would stay high. They all germinated very well within 48-72 hours. I then put them all in rockwool and only 3/10 have signs of any seedlings after 4 days in the rockwool. I have CFL on them and proper ventilation. 1 of the 3 that sprouted the seed is coming up so i know that one will be ok. the others u can just see a tiny bit of root like or maybe top leaf rising not even above the rockwool yet. Any tips tricks? Is 4 days and no seedlings normal when do i know their dead and pull apart the rockwool to see whats wrong?

The pic below is my pc stealth box just for seedlings cuz the CFL is strong inside and the temp is around 72 degrees with a slow airflow but nice

If all the seeds germinated then Nirvana is off the hook. If YOU traumatized them with too much love then it's wrong to blame the shop.

Advise? Next time put them in some mild soil and don't keep messing with it!

Did you rinse the Rockwool before use, with properly ph'd water?
What's the ph of the water you're using?
Are you keeping the Rockwool damp, or have you let it dry out between waterings?
Why are you starting in Rockwoll, then putting them into soil? Why not germinate 'em in a bleach-free paper towel? (cheaper and quite effective)

Some seeds covers are stubborn hard, and may need coaxing to germinate. A gentle scuffing with 180 or 220 sandpaper will allow easier access for the moisture to enter the seed.

So you put them into paper towels, probably kept opening to check them, then took them out of the paper towels and put them into rock wool, watered a few times possibly..... That's what I'd call messing with them too much yes. IMHO seeds were not designed (by nature) for that. I say yet again: I put my Nirvana seeds in soil, watered lightly, and by some miracle they all grew!

Sorry, I must have misunderstood your big accusing title "Seed Problem from Nirvana Not Sprouting". I think I need new glasses because it led me to believe Nirvana seeds had a problem sprouting. Perhaps it should have read "No matter how much I pick and poke at these seeds they still won't grow".

I've seen a few seeds take over a week to pop up.

For the third time, I'd advise to just plant the seeds, water lightly and allow them to grow without all that extra "help". It worked for Jack and the bean stalk.

But I guess I forgot to add the middle part. <sigh>

From what I can tell, most germination problems are operator error. Patience helps overcome this problem. A seed house doesn't stay open long if the seeds won't pop.

Hey man a friend had the same issue with the same seed and same bank. He put the seed in water so after sinking the next day he put it into soil, it didnt pop. And he did not touch the seed after planting.

So your not alone on this strain from this bank. If people want to help, maybe they should assume that ya played with the seeds as much as he seem to think you did. But all ya need is dirt, i hate the paper towel thing, but works for many people. 1/4 to 1/2'' in soil and let them sit in water over night before ya plant them has always worked for me. Try em again man.

Umm...wanna try that first sentence again? No clue what you're saying.

Try scuffing the seed before drowning it or placing in a paper towel.
If you plant the seed directly, or the night after it sinks...a few things are likely to happen.
    A) the seed was still too stubborn and won't pop.
    B) the seed (after planting) can get disturbed (watering, bumping the cups...) and actually migrate deeper into the medium, or down the side of the cup...never to be seen again.

Both of these problems cause up to 2 weeks of needless waiting around for results before abandoning the seeds. It truly sucks when planting for 6 pots, but only 1 or 2 break ground. Throws-off the entire process.

I used to do the float 'em till they sink thing before getting to know the (unbleached) paper towel thing, which is much quicker and reliable if you are looking at predictable results and timeframes.
