    is this white widow?

so it is near the end of my grow and i am getting lost in the knolwedge. i went out and got that infamous 100x microscope from radio shack. heres what i see

    [attachment=o251378]

i see the trichs but what are the hairs? do the contain thc?

i know to hang dry for a while but why let them sit in a jar for a few weeks opening it every day? whats happening in there?

in the area that i first started to see the white hairs...when i look there now it looks like a seed sack only it has hairs comeing out of it and is coverd in frost..looks like a gland is this normal or is my plant going hermie?

hermies do not produce alot of thc because they focus on createing seeds...ya, ok but what if it does not become a hermie intill later in the flowering process?

some plants are smaller because they had a harder life than the otherss, will they take longer to turn amber or just yield less? they are all the same age.

the odor is not what i thought. i have read that it is vetty strong but mine is not...the room they are in allways smells like i just smoked a bowl in there but thats all. the rest of my house is fine. can you judge the potentcy from the smell? i know there would be exceptions but...you know..generally

this grew from bag seed.. .my best guess is white widow...any one recognize it....i would like to know what it is

Judging by the fan leafs, your plant looks like a sativa dominant strain. If it is White Widow, it is probably a hybrid cross strain that is mostly something else. I dont think it is WW though, but it is impossible to tell for sure.

The hairs are called pistils. They should be a milky white, then change to a orange/brown. Once over 50% of the hairs change color, you can harvest your plant.

Doesn't look like a hermie to me.

    Happy growing....

Very common indeed. It takes more patience than one thinks to wait until the optimal harvest window. Some peoples tastes as growers can account for it too. I tend to harvest mine when the tops are going amber but the lowers haven't really started to. Just my personal preference. Some like to wait until it's gone all amber or mostly, just different strokes for different folks

I wouldn't say your anywhere near the end of that grow,.... Looks like your in week 3-4, if it is WW expect it to take about 8-9 weeks.

the little hairs you can see under the microscope contain very little THC, I don't remember what there called off hand, the ones with the little heads on them are the trichomes.

The female flower is basically an unfertilized seed, which is why they look like seeds covered in frost ( trichomes! ) with 2 hairs sticking out of them. If pollen gets on one of those 2 hairs it'll fertilize the flower and generate a seed.

Hermie flowers will have a "Nanner" sticking out of them, it's a single pollen gland, mostly its inert, but it could potentially fertilize the surrounding flowers. I attached a good picture I got a couple days ago of a herm flower after I excised it from the plant.

as for the curing process, you need to do that to evenly distribute the moisture in the bud to create a smooth smoke that burns well. You can't just completely desiccate the bud, it needs to be just a little moist.

    Hope that helped a little.

growing from bagseed, I would never guess White Widow. where did you find this seed, was it only 1 seed in a q? or was it 1 of 30 seeds in a q?

anyway, my first 3 grows were from bagseed, and I just labeled them as general as I could: purp, cause the stuff was purple I got it from, and Kush, cause that's what the guy said it was, and I found a seed in it. Otherwise I personally would never say: "hey man, I got some white widow". I just call it homegrown. So until you decide to risk actually purchasing seeds through a seedbank, please don't be that guy saying you have WW when all you have is some nice bagseed. I'm not trying to diss you at all, because again, I have 3 successful harvests under my belt of some nice bagseed.

    anywho, just my two cents.

I am pretty positive it is not White Widow. If it was, the leaves would be shorter and wider, along with the fan leaf stems being a much deeper hue of purple. I currently have a 6 White Widow plants, so that is my opinion.

awsome. thank you mucho!! i know i still have time to go but considering they have ben growing for almost 3 months i like to think i am almost done..im guessing 2 more weeks...maby 3...i have had 3 hermies so far, i hope i hot them out in time!!

for the record they veged for a 30 days and have ben flowering for around 45 days. they are slowing down because the light i think..i hope, whatever the reason there is nothing i can do now...im just gona let them run their course. i flushed them to day...i think i am gona cut the nutes out and just give them water from now on...to early or no?
