Complete Newbie - Is tent the way to go?
Hi
So heres my situation. My friend just brought back a bunch of seeds from cali and I want to try growing something. I dont really have a closet or room I could use so I was considering getting a grow tent that I could keep in my room.
Does anyone have thoughts if this might be a good idea or what I should do to get the best results from this attempt?

Hey I bought a grow tent set up and gotta say pretty happy with it! Now this is my first grow but tent itself was cheap around $90 and it's 4x4x6 just enough room for 3 full size plants. Had to get the ventilation and light system which got a bit costly but it'll be worth it in the end. The tents are great for dark periods and easy to assemble. U could make ur own box but you'd still need all the vent stuff. Tent is a good way to go imo.

I'm finishing up the touches on a custom grow room that encompasses absolutely everything one would want in a grow room and I do mean everything, only to the specifications that I wanted and for the space I alloted. It cost a fuck load more then 150 bucks I can assure you of that not to mention the hundreds of hours in research and construction. IMO you should go with a tent. Why anyone would go through what I went through, is beyond me. Stick with a tent, an Ebb & Flow system, with coco as your medium and I swear to you, you will be glad you got that advice up front.

Yeah but you can't put a lock on a tent...
Have a look at the Secret Jardin tents. They are well constructed. See: Secret Jardin. It is reasonably priced considering but look around you may find it cheaper from a 3rd party seller.

You got me on that one and it was practically the first and only reason I built the damn thing to begin with. With a tent everyone knows what you got and anyone that can gain access to the tent will eventually get into the tent. Custom cabinets allow you to hide the operation as well as lock it in ways not easily done with a tent.
