Plants being destroyed. Will they recover ?
Quick Question...
I have had these plants growing since late april, early may, and within the last couple days, the lower 50% of my plant has been chewed up but what I assume are crickets. I have some insecticidal soap which I am waiting until a day or two to use due to big storms coming this way, but what I wanted to know is if they will recover. They still have well over a month until they will begin flowering judging by the light in my location, and I have heard that if a plant has a attack during its vegetative state, it still can come back around and maybe even help boost the budding. Is someone lying to me? I feel like a rapist just kidnapped my children and I'm not sure if I am ever going to see them grow to their full potential.
Thanks

Plants being destroyed. Will they recover ?
Ok, I found out that the pest were slugs. About 35 which I just launched into the lake near my plant for the fish to feed on. They really tore apart some of the bottom leaves pretty good, and I am going to all the precautions to take, Copper Wiring around base, salt around base, eggshells, etc. Also using soapy pesticide. The only thing I am wondering is if I should either let the eaten plants stay on and look bad, or would it benefit the plant if I cut the leaves at where they meet the stem...To cut or not to cut.

Unless the main stem of the leaf is chewed though I would leave the chewed up leaves alone. Leave or take is minor either way.
Get some slugbait and dump the whole box around the plant. Don't do this half assed. Nuke the whole area around your plant. There are a lot more slugs out there.
At this stage the slugs have little effect on your plant. The bottom of your plant will not a big bud producer. Just get rid of the slugs and you will be fine.

You had me googling cricket's diet there , lol .
Yes it looks like slug or catterpiller damage , slugs are our enemy.
They can climb or slimb from one plant to another , as you's are surrounded you might have problem's defeating them . Maybe cut back ajoining plant's .
Copper is a deterrent , it gives them a shock and they wont cross that barrier . Various product's are available or you can make you'r own from tube/pipe etc , it's said that the copper should ne at least an inch in height to work effectivly .
Hope you solve this problem

You can make sure of it by lining the bottom in salt. Lol.
