Goofy little fungus gnats...
I didn't know where else to post this, but when I caught the picture of it, I knew I had to share it.
I was using my USB scope last night to look at some of the buds I have curing; (this can go on for hours if I'm properly baked) and after about 40 nuggets, I noticed a small black dot on one of my NL/Skunk buds. I put it under the scope, and after fiddling with the focus and zoom for a minute, this is what I saw.

Very crazy to me. I know fungus gnats aren't the biggest deal in the world. Most of the organic soils that I have purchased from several different suppliers and retailers have had them to some degree or another. This grow wasn't bad at all. The most I ever saw flying in the room at one time was 3 or 4. I know where there's one there is many, but I didn't really pay it too much mind. They're so damn small, I'm thinking I have probably smoked thousands of them in the last 15 years. This is the first time I have owned the proper technology to actually view them, but that doesn't mean it's the first one I have encountered.
Now I don't know if it's funnier that I found this little bugger, or that I managed to get him off the bud and onto another flat surface for further inspection. Here's a couple more pictures I managed to fire off before I sneezed and he disappeared. The second one is his wing next to the tip of a half inch safety pin.

Just wanted to share these pictures with everyone because I found them pretty fascinating. It really does make me wonder the kinds of things I have smoked over the years without having a clue.irydyum Reviewed by irydyum on . Goofy little fungus gnats...
