"One gram (of guaifenesin) dissolves in 20 mL water at 25° C; it is freely soluble in ethanol. Guaifenesin is readily absorbed from the GI tract and is rapidly metabolized and excreted in the urine.

"Guaifenesin is well tolerated and has a wide margin of safety. Side effects have been generally mild and infrequent. Nausea and vomiting are the side effects that occur most commonly. Dizziness, headache, and rash (including urticaria) have been reported rarely.

"The acute toxicity of guaifensin is low and overdosage is unlikely to produce serious toxic effects. In laboratory animals no toxicity resulted when guaifenesin was administered by stomach t.b. in doses up to 5 grams/kg."

The previous FOUR paragraphs were quoted from the above website...I'm not trying to convince anyone to take anything containing guaifenesin...but I'm not seeing any website even giving SYMPTOMS of overdose from guaifenesin...I will say that if you plan on taking a DXM drug with this combination...don't take the one with 600 mg because it is delayed release and you'd have to chew it...too high of a guaifenesin to dextromethorphan ratio...they're tons of other drugs that use the same combination without delayed release, and much smaller amounts of the guaifenesin....as far as the extraction goes...well...I'm looking...it does say that guai is soluble to some amount in water and readily in ethanol (alcohol)....

I would find a different drug that uses this combination first, say 200 or 300 mg of guai to the 30 mg of dxm....
