but i really dont no nutthin about Guaifenesin is it dangerous in high amounts ?

would there be anyway to do any extraction from these ?

"One gram (of guaifenesin) dissolves in 20 mL water at 25° C; it is freely soluble in ethanol. Guaifenesin is readily absorbed from the GI tract and is rapidly metabolized and excreted in the urine.

"Half-life elimination is app. 1 hour

"Guaifenesin is well tolerated and has a wide margin of safety. Side effects have been generally mild and infrequent. Nausea and vomiting are the side effects that occur most commonly. Dizziness, headache, and rash (including urticaria) have been reported rarely.

"The acute toxicity of guaifensin is low and overdosage is unlikely to produce serious toxic effects. In laboratory animals no toxicity resulted when guaifenesin was administered by stomach t.b. in doses up to 5 grams/kg."

The previous FOUR paragraphs were quoted from the above website...I'm not trying to convince anyone to take anything containing guaifenesin...but I'm not seeing any website even giving SYMPTOMS of overdose from guaifenesin...I will say that if you plan on taking a DXM drug with this combination...don't take the one with 600 mg because it is delayed release and you'd have to chew it...too high of a guaifenesin to dextromethorphan ratio...they're tons of other drugs that use the same combination without delayed release, and much smaller amounts of the guaifenesin....as far as the extraction goes...well...I'm looking...it does say that guai is soluble to some amount in water and readily in ethanol (alcohol)....

I would find a different drug that uses this combination first, say 200 or 300 mg of guai to the 30 mg of dxm....

If you try to take this medication recreationally chances are you'll get to experience it first hand.

Also, it says it is extended release which means the dxm is absorbed over the course of several hours and not all at once. To get any trip from them you would have to crush/break the pills or increase the dosage. After the fact you will surely be taking enough guaifenesin to induce projectile vomitting.

I agree with nullific...DXM ONLY PEOPLE! Guaifenesin and any other shit they add to DXM containing products are a No no...unless like nullific said, you wanna make love to your toilet all night! Now that doesn't sound like a lot of fun now does it??

i found some liquidgels at eckerd...don't know how many of those stores are left though...that was in south carolina...they were really good

ive done a shit load of DXm and some times i had high doeses of gufifsen (sp) and i havent had any problems...could just be me thogh

Guaifenesin is just a chest decongestant......helps you breath better by opening up your lungs. done enough of it to know you really shouldnt worry about Guaifenesin, almost impossible to overdose on it.

oh no, it IS impossible to overdoes on guaifenesin...it's a natural thing, like pot...you'll puke before you'll overdose on it...it'll all come up...it's nothing harmful at all....it's just that it does make many people puke...it's not a good combination with dxm because you might take too much of it and puke....but yeah it's harmless, basically you're eating bark off of a certain tree...

My experience with guafenisen mostly involved seperating it from ephedrine, but I know it's not to dangerous. I've seen people eat a whole handful of mini-thins with 200mg guafenisen each, and have no problems. But there are a shitload of products with DXM and nothing else, just a matter of reading enough labels.
