1st grow - few questions (pics included)

Hi, ive lingered around for some time, absorbing both fact and opinion.. so i wanted to join the club and give a shot at cultivating. I bought a grab bag of seed, forget the bank's name, but all 'sound' genetics supposedly.

Was under the impression weed will propagate without much help, but of course certain conditions require intervention. Anywho, a neighbor gave me a t8 fixture w/ a few bulbs (daylight/cool white) and i bought a 2nd which uses the same bulb combination.

The closet in my room is more than ample, least 12sq ft with 8' ceilings. ANYWAY, sowed 6 seeds.. all germinated fine, forgot to water, half died, remaining 3 still survived, so have kept a close eye and 2 of the 3 seem very healthy to my untrained eye. Only a few individuals are privy and each say they look stunted and i kind of agreed. They've been vegging for 24 hours for about a month + 3weeks.. each is only 12-14", but i still see new growth as well as 9 bladed leaves atm. Then again maybe it's just the strain since i was told my purchase included nl, bb, afghan, haze, and some hybrid. I don't have much experience, but I'm thinking most those do not grow remarkably tall except the afghani?, or maybe the intensity of light is sub par? It's pretty apparent the 2 prospects arent alike as far as leaves go. But i would like some verification of what i've done is fine, not, and how it could be improved. I know things will significantly change for the mulligan, such as the addition of 2 more t8s for lower branches, reflective hood, and whatever suggestions I receive. I'm sorta partial to cfls over an hid lamp, but converting is dooable.

Those look plenty healthy to me. :thumbsup: I'd drop the light cycle back to 18/6 to give them a bit of rest.


I've got no idea what strain they could be, but leaflet count is more a function of the nutes than the strain, (My Grandaddy Purple waffles back and forth between 5-7 depending on feeding cycle)

Under a 430 watt light they should be double their size. They look about par for the lighting you are using. Keep the light about 4 to 6 inches away from the tops. Maybe transplant to bigger pots too. :smokin:

Hi, just to follow up with my previous post.

Well, the 2 plants originally pictured were male, the one 'late bloomer'.. female.

Sorta curious when to harvest exactly. The one picture is a buddlet at bottom of plant. Probably been flowering 3-4 weeks , but I'm not sure when to commence collection.
