Can an acupuncturist serve as a board member for a growers application?

That was the response on 2-17-10 again from Jeff Marshall the head honco at the time if he is no longer there.

I have not been in touch since March as I have been to slammed with my computer business to even worry about it.

you guys appear to be talking about two different things.

Any health care provider can sit on the board of the nonprofit producer, but only practitioners with prescriptive authority can write the recommendation to use medical cannabis.

    apples and oranges, dudes... :stoned:
    peace :hippy:

    1) Are public dispensers allowed or is the product to be delivered directly to the patient? Directly,no dispensers.

    2) Is it wise to have a dispensary if it is allowed? I am afraid the Federal Government may construe this as blatant disregard or flaunting.
    It's not allowed in NM.

    3) If a dispensary is allowed (wise) can the production and distribution be at different locations for additional security? Not allowed, but the Producers can have an office separate from the grow op-----I recommend that.

    4) Can a producer sell product to other producers/dispensaries?
    I don't think so,at this time.

    5) Can a producer also sell supplies for home growth such as light and hydroponics equipment? Not sure about that.

    6) Can a producer give classes on growing for those who whish to be self-sufficient? Yes

    7) Can a home growth supplier sell seeds and seedlings to Medical Marijuana Patients for home growth? Not at this time.

    8) Does the physician on the board (not one that prescribes or recommends) have to be registered and active in NM? Not sure, but I would think so.

    9) Can Chiropractors, also known as doctors of chiropractic or chiropractic physicians qualify as a â??physicianâ?ť on the non-profit board? I would think so.

    10) Is there a set ratio of producers to patients? No,but a conservative estimate is that each Producer can serve 100 patients.

    11) What is the current number of registered patients in NM? About 2000,I think.

    12) What is the number of Producers in NM? 5 currently operating, 6 new approvals that are not up and running yet. Total of 11 approved Producers.

    13) Are the applications of currently approved producerâ??s public record that can be viewed with confidential information blacked out? The purpose is to use the methods as an accepted and successful model not for gathering information on the producer. Yes,do you want copies of them?

    14) If a personal loan is necessary from a bank, private entity or individual for start up costs are they considered an interest that needs to be listed? I would think so.

    15) If the site location is leased does the landlord have to be listed as a business interest that needs to be listed? I would think so.

    16) Is an on-site finger print identification vending machine an acceptable means of distribution? Assuming prior documentation has been verified and documented in association with the finger print of the patient? No.

    17) Does the state dictate pricing for product? No,but the pricing must not be too low,as they are scared patients will resell the product at a profit.

    18) What is the current state tax rate on product? Not sure.
