    How to Re-Pot Without Stress

Well iv helped people when i can and wanted to put this up as i have re potted more then just MJ many times without any stress or issues. If you follow these instructions you will have no stress to your plant and will grow your plants faster IMO.

First thing is to know when your plant needs re potting. After you have done this a few times, its pretty easy. This thread is for re potting so for me, i can tell my plants need a re pot by the look of the leaves. The leaves get droopy, but after you water the plant perks up. But if this is going on 3-4 days i re pot because the plant is root bound. This is how i can tell, but if you water and see roots, its a no brainier root bound. But if i were you i would read on the subject.

I took a pic of the plant to show what it looked like before an after as well as a few i feel is important. First pic is my plant and as you can see the leaves are very droopy, its root bound and as dry as i could let the pot get before damaging any roots in its current pot. It is very important to let your plant dry out as much as possible. Then roll the plant between your hands and this will loosen the roots from the sides of the pot. You dont want wet soil as when you pull her out, the roots will stick to the sides and will not slide right out being wet. So roots can be damaged and could stress the plant out. A re pot should never stress your plant.

You should have your soil mixed with extra perlite to ensure the drainage your plant will need to grow healthy. Trust me, its worth the extra few bucks. I get a batch mixed up with my plant and pot in front of me. You want to be able to get your plant in soil asap as roots and light do not like each other as light will kill your roots. Also this is why i put my plant next to the new pot, to get an idea of soil you need at the bottom of your new pot. This way you use enough to cover your plant and also, your plant isn't sticking up from the new pot by adding too much soil to start with.

So your plant needs a re pot and is dry now. All of your materials are in front of you at this point. Just roll the pot between your hands while squeezing the pot gently. The roots should be ready now to be taken from its old pot. If the pot is small enough, i lay it on its side on the table im working from and a bigger plant would be on the ground. But by rolling it or rocking it with some pressure on its side will loosen the roots this way. So now simply start to pull the plant with you pointer finger and middle fingers between the stem at the very bottom of the plant near the soil. If the plant does not come right out, tap the sides and it should come right out.

Then place your plant straight into your new pot with soil and your pre mix of soil and perlite already in the bottom. Now as you have prepared your soil, just fill in the sides with your soil. Hold the plant at the bottom part of its stem, to get soil equally around the outside of the root ball. Make sure its all filled and cover the top as well as you do not want sun to touch your roots, but we have been over this. Pat down around the root ball to fill any space in your new pot so when you water your soil will not sink into the pot. Which is the last step, water till you see a good stream come from the drainage holes in your pot. Now watch as your leaves will raise and your plant will thank you later:jointsmile:

Pic 1 Shows the plant needs re potted:wtf:

Pic 2 Shows soil, pot and plant already for you to start

Pic 3 Shows root ball and how it comes out from the pot:thumbsup:

Pic 4 Shows the plant in its new pot, with sides close to being filled with
    new soil

Pic 5 Shows the plant after about 2 hrs an 15min.

You can not mess this up, or il come over and re pot all your plants, lol
BTW this plant is 4' tall with buds on it now as it was put under 12/12 shortly after this re pot. Oh and i think iv never got one in straight, no biggie works all the same. I hope this helps someone and i put it here because it is the season

Should you pack the new soil or lay it loose out of the bag?

Not sure i understand your question bro. If your talking about getting your soil ready, i mix it with perlite in a container, then i use it to fill in around the plant. Then i pack it down to fill any empty space around the root ball also when you water, the soil will not sink on ya.

Hope this helps, if not re word it and il catch it:thumbsup:

I was wondering if you pack the new soil around the root ball or just lay it in there. After rereading your post, you said to pat the new soil so now I got it. TANKS:rastasmoke:

I just repotted 3 of mine and sure enough. I had roots all around the outter edges of the pot. Thanks for info brother.

Sorry is it in or outside and does it get wind or do you have a fan on or blowing anything close to the plant? Water and pick up your pot and feel how heavy it is then wait 3-4 days and pick the pot up again. You can tell by the weight of the pot the plant used all the water. And yes it should grow an inch or two everyday if its in excellent growing condition. Do you have a pic of her? Il look around for a thread if ya have one:thumbsup:
