Thanks for the foil info makes sense but I never thought about it. I am trying to get some mylar waiting for some funds. I will keep an eye on that!

No gotta save-up for mylar.
But I advise losing the foil fast.
As you increase the light, foil becomes more of a burn hazard.
(And, unless it's glued to a flat surface, so does mylar)
I was using Reflectix which is an excellent reflector but is way too impermeable.
It kept the soil too moist and interfered with gas exchange

White paper plates make excellent, and cheap soil covers.
As do sheets of typing paper,

White terrycloth hand towels work a treat, they breathe and they are washable.:thumbsup:
The texture seems to bewilder Gnats when they attempt to lay eggs in your soil.

Plenty no-budget, choices. Jus' keep thinking.:thumbsup:
