    Hey all.

I am growing a couple of plants in my back yard. They are about a foot and half tall. Would LST be beneficial and also want them not to get too high(no pun intended) so people can see them.

Is it to late in the grow or can you do it at any stage?

Yes you can LST them to keep them bushy..Also this is just a guess from your name but i take it your from the okc area. If so i would just like to warn you about the HELI. I have a freind that flies in the okc chopper and the do thermal foot print searches 2 times a week. Marijuana puts of a destict thermal foot print and thats what they look for. They also do most of there sweeps on the southside and out towards lake T-Bird. They tend to search more at night but some during the day. This is why i was afraid of triing outside One thing that might help isto put a bucket over your plant at night with it covered in a emergency blanket as this deflects infared.. Stay safe bro and keep up the good work with your grow:thumbsup:

Dont mean to be a doosh, but some of the stuff you said is bullshit. Marijuana does not put out a thermal footprint, its hot grow lights and grow rooms theyre looking for. Thermal means heat, marijuana is just like every other plant out there so it would just blend in. They might be able to see YOU at night with a thermal camera, but not your outdoor plants.
they are looking for hot grow houses, so putting a thermal blanket over your plants would be a stupid idea. Disguise the plants with tomatoes, or other plants that blend in well. If you have a couple in your back yard i dont think the choppers are gunna get you, just dont have a field.

I LST all of my plants outside in order to keep them short and easily conceable. Your going to notice a boost in yield when you do that too.

Actually they do put off a very particular heat signature.. Its not just the grow room they look for. My wife brother works for the okc police dept and he is the thermal FLIR operator. How do you think they find crops in the woods? You think they just spot them with there eyes?? He has no idea i even use cannabis and he never will, but he shares his stories all the time and we had a disscussion on hiow he finds it. Belive or not they acutally use the plants heat not the light...As far as the bucket is concerned u line the inside of the bucket..

Sorry bro im not triing to make you paranoid, just triing to remind you to stay safe! We both know the shit laws in this state and we are the 2nd hardest state on growing. Dont get paranoid just keep the plants short and bushy and you will be fine:jointsmile: And the reason they fly over T-Bird is for some reason there is alot of DITCH weed growing there " Ditch weed is marijuana that grow naturaly on its own but has no real thc content, but they spot them "single plants" in the wild with flir. They then GPS locate there exact location and send some 1 to destroy the plant. If you do a read you will see the ok authorites kill way more Ditch weed than real crops.

    ...if I may offer a coupl'a:

There are some great tutorials/sticky threads on this site for technique, but it's really pretty simple.

You need to carefully bend the main stalk of the plant (do it over a few days if it's already 'stiff' and not bendy), so that it runs parallel with the ground. Once this is done, use one string/tie/whatever to "hold the bend in place", and one string/tie/whatever near the (now-sideways) top, holding it in place.

The top will then try to outgrow its bonds, but any side branches that are now sticking up will become new tops. Carefully keep adding strings to 'catch' the escaping original-top, and try to 'chase' or 'guide' it around the main stalk in a spiral pattern for best effect.

Main thing to remember is not to 'lassoo' the bits you're trying to tie down, but to bend them carefully into shape with your fingers, and then tie 'em into position. LIGHT stress, after all

My biggest plant so far with this technique had over 30 flowertops on it.
