So, cyber, your venture into joining has spurred the same from I. Now Im not going to try to instruct you, experimentation is the spice of life! Only maybe add a few pennies

KY1956 Makes a really good point. One and a quarter smoke may not seem like much, but think about every time you seperate your purchase. Thats quite a bit, Even Grinded.

Id suggest If this is your first time trying this recipe, go slow...... Start with a quarter. Schwag may not be Nug quality, but it is weed. It still contains THC, and done right, your still going to get the desired effect. Trust me.

So, When you seperate, Measure out a quarter, and maybe your stem. Start there. Remember, The amount Of Alcohol used is going to kinda be rendered irrelevant. Your evaporating the base anyway, til you get the mixture your looking for. Using to much means just leaving in on the stove a little longer to reduce the excess. At a quarter, 3-4 oz should be fine, and remember, with any recipe, its a trial and error. Your first batch may be to weak, to strong, to brown, or to green. If you perfect on the first go, Hoorah! if not, like most of us, It gets tons easier over time.

So, heres the bread and butter of my advice, take it as you will.

Use a double Boiler, For the love of god. Things happen, bumps, shakes, nudges. Everclear + Burner = , Well, you can fill in the blank. This way should something happen, its going to hit water, and greatly reduce risks.

Do not use a skillet. My stove is old, and hard to keep at any sort of steady temp, but ive still had tons more luck then my own two attempts at a skillet. I dont know why, it just doesnt seem to work as well, maybe its a all in my head though.

Ive read on way to many sites now people saying a stove vent is enough to vent. Be safe, over cautious never hurt anyone. Try to find a little desk fan, or if you have to a good ol box fan, Open that window nice and wide so the fan can circulate vapors. A good experiment is before you start place a candle on the cool burner, (the everclear should still be unopened for this, grins) Light it, your fan should be creating enough of a airflow pull out the window that your flame should be starting to bend slightly.

Your first time, Start heavy. If the recipe you want to use calls for 2oz fluid, go with 3. Now, Once you pyrex is in your pot, Start on low. Let it get to temp. If its 60 degrees, great! now slowly every few minutes raise it a smidge or three, give it a minute, and retemp it. Your need to be in no rush, you arent going to ruin this if it takes 40 minutes instead of 20, etc. Your end result will be just as good, I promise.

If your a smoker of any type, please, please, please. Take that pack of smokes, Put em in a closet, drawer, etc. Put a postit on em, remind yourself, you can smoke soon. As a smoker i know how exciting the first time you try a recipe is, and that drives the need for that nicotine refreshment. If you have to smoke, have someone step in and watch, and go outside.

Do not leave unattended. while a ton more potentially dangerous, its a pretty easy recipe. I dont know how many batches of cannabutter Ive reduced or ruined due to distractions/etc. Stoned + making canna butter, pretty enjoyable but a costly mistake, Stoned + GD, pats your head, BOOM

Master Wu stressed this a ton, but i will a little more. This is a new experience for you im guessing, but even if you've had someone else's, yours will be different. Start with a few drop in coffee, soda etc. Give it thirty minutes to an hour. Clean up your kitchen, read a chapter, surf the forums. Id advise against smoking weed at this point til you learn this batches potency and how it hits you. When you do get it down, enjoy some, then chase it with a J or a few bing hits a hour or so later, It will change your world. It youve never ingested THC, your in for a treat, but it can be pretty intense.

So, there you have it. Just remember Caution, and Patience are to keys to any good green recipe, its just to expensive to rush.

Best of luck, and please follow up, Id love to know your results.
