CO2 as pesticide
I've always only grown from seed, but I'm going to pick up some clones tonight.
I'm a little concerned about introducing pests (piggybacking on the clones) to my clean grow room.
I've been thinking about placing the clones in a cooler with dry ice for about an hour allowing the dry ice to displace the O2 and kill any spidermites etc that may be on my clones.
Does this sound reasonable or will this cause too much stress on the young plants?
I'm going to a pretty highly rated club in San Francisco to get them. Does anyone have experience buying from a cannabis club? Are the plants at the clubs generally in pretty good shape?
While I'm on the club tangent is there a club in San Francisco that any of you would recommend?

plants need oxygen to breath too. i'm not sure if the ppm will be less than the mites can survive on though.
try neem oil - its 100% natural and will kill any insects or mites.

Neem is not as effective on spider mites as raising your ppm to kill them with Co2...also I believe Aquaponicherb has directions for an atomizer that is highly effective. Lets hope he responds with directions!

Use Azamax instead of neem oil. It is the concentrate of neem and easier to use. 3 treatments once a week will do. And it's cheap. They probbably don't have mite but just to be sure.
I know Zandor ran co2 and he said when the PPM's get to about 1500 no bugs could live and no bad effects to the plants for short periods like 4 hours or less. That's when you flush with fresh air and fill the room again.

Although I am a newcommer germinating for my 1st grow and have never tried this on MJ, I have used this method for years on all my garden vegetables with good results.
By some pipe or rolling tobacco (NOT ready made cigarettes) and soak it in water overnight. I use about half an ounce (12g) in half pint. Bring it to the boil, strain and cool.
You will end up with an unpleasant brown liquid that is lethal and organic. It's a strong poison so make sure nobody drinks it!
Mist it onto your plants and watch everything with legs die.
