but they love that vegas heat! i know...have grown many plants in the backyard when i lived there (near valley h.s.). they just need more water during the heat of summer. like 3x/day and they'll still wilt a bit on the hottest days but by sundown should be looking good and ready to put on a few inches overnight. water at sunrise, 2pm and sunset...especially hard at sunset.
you will need to either get them in the ground or use an oversize pot to keep the heat down for the roots. shading the pot from direct sunlight also helps as does shade from the hottest time of day. i've grown them inside mesquite trees (planted in the ground near a mesquite and training it to grow with the trunk) and in no time they're approaching the tree top. sounds like ya got the shade covered...just give em more water. and damn the l.v.v.w.d. watering schedules!
good luck

are you growing indoors or outdoors? if indoors c02 regulation will allow your plants to withstand a higher temp, hydroponics (even a simple 2 bucket nylon wick system) can cut down on the amount of watering needed e.t.c, grow to your enviornment, if outdoors use that 2 bucket hydro system also, its simple and easy to use, shade is also important!
