Hello Erika,

Thank You for posting your experience with Desensitization. I have long know it to be an option but I know I cannot afford it however I am pleased to read that the procedure has helped you.

I was diagnosed with PTSD by a CNP but 5 days in the psych ward @ Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces is what led to a separate consensus among nurses, doctors, and 2 psychiatrists. The events leading up to this are now embarrassing but I received compassionate care and was approved in 10 days.

90% of people do not want to have to be confined but as in my case it turned out to be a lifesaver and I actually felt safe in sort time despite the the face plant is was given in the ER.

I would rather not state names as I was later told that I was the first person to have a positive results from these providers.

The point of my whole rambling is that if you are really going down and unable to restrain your symptoms the hospital is always there and they will provide a person with a complete evaluation. The way it is done is in such a manner that a condition cannot be faked unless you're James Bond. I was brought in by Sheriff deputies who were surprisingly well trained on how to handle me in my condition,no criminal charges as a result. The security guards in the ER were very unprofessional, condescending and that is what lead to two of them slamming my face into the floor. I am confident that if one were to walk in and express their dilemma that they would be taken care of in a compassionate manner,of course taking into account the 1 or 2 chickenhearted aides.

This of course for most is a last resort but if a person was a bad off as I was it can be life saving as it was for me. A walk in experience avoids all of my unpleasant dealings and the TRUTH can provide one with all the necessary dictation and J.H.s needed.

I am sorry for the rant but there is a last resort and you live through it.
chance942 Reviewed by chance942 on . Doctors for PTSD Hey everyone! My name is Erika. I'm new to the forum but so far after browsing it looks like there's going to be some great info to gather here and hopefully we can organize some good advocacy for the state program to keep building and stop stalling. I'm hoping that we can start a few threads that make doctors in NM easier to locate based on conditions. Coolslayer, I've seen you direct readers to your "find a doctor" thread...but for some reason, I can't find it. Will you please link to Rating: 5
