Autoflower is a cross beteween Northern lights and Canabis Rudereles. Plants are pre-programed to bud after a certan amount of time. NOT Photoperiod. They can be given 24 hour light and 3 weeks to a month. Bang. They Bud.

In the growing tip of a plant is the apical maristem. A hormone called auxin is produced there. Auxin retards branch development. Nip the tip and the plant will branch. Also long periods in full sunlight degrade auxin. So that is another way to get a plant to branch naturaly,

In ideal conditions 12 + hours of sun your plant will grow bigget , faster and with a lot of branches, Your plant is getting 2/3rds of the light it needs. So you get 2/3rd of the growth you need. Simple,
