I have a temp/rh meter that lets me know the min and max values since the last "reset" of the meter. I usually check at 6 pm when the lights go on and write the temp/rh, temp min/max, rh min/max on a sheet of paper on the wall along with the date and time. Then I reset the meter.

At eleven or so at night, write the stuff down and reset the gauge. If I want I can do the same thing in the am. This way I have a running track of the temp/rh to see how the room reacts to the dehumidifier, ac, fans, watering and who knows what else.

If I notice that I should adjuist the temp or rh, I have something to base my decision on.

If the dehumidifier shuts off when it is full, then my room gets a higher rh. I have figured out that it takes about 12 hours or so to fill up, it depends. But sometimes I sleep in or I come home late, and then I am reading a 65 or70 rh, but I know it couldn't have been for long, maybe an hour or two tops.
