How do i use my humidifier

So my temps are at 75 so ok, but my humidity is 70 or higher at times. But i have one with a fan, temp control and will stabilize my humidity too. I am just not sure how high do i let the humidity go and what temp should i set it at?

Iv been wanting to use this thing as i payed over 300.00 for it and its just sitting here.

Any help with settings would be great, thanks all, i wasn't sure where to post this.

The ideal veg room atmosphere would be 65 to 75 degrees with a relative humidity between 50 to 60 percent.
The ideal bud room atmosphere would be 70 to 80 degrees with a relative humidity between 40 to 50 percent. You'll have to experiment through trial and error with your room conditions until you find settings on your appliances to get you where you want to be. Just try not to let your temperature fluctuate more than 10 degrees in either room if at all possible so you don't stress out the ladies. It can be a stressful event getting it all figured out, but once you're there, it will pay dividends and be well worth your effort.

    Good luck!

If your humidity is above 70 most times, you will need to DE humidify. A humidifier can only add moisture, it can't remove it if it's too much. Same with a de-humidifier, it can only remove and not add.

How do i use my humidifier

I have a small de humidifier. In my room I have it set at 50 percent and have found that the RH(relative humidity) varies from 37 to about 52. The dehumidifier will create "exhaust" or a hot air as it does its' work.

Buy yourself a little rh and temp meter and like the other guy says, see what happens when you make your settings.

Be sure to empty the water cause it don't work at all well when the bucket is full.

I have started it at 60 to see just what happens an plan to lower it as i get buds growing. But i do have a temp/humidity meter sitting at my grow, also their is one on the dehumidifier. So well see what happens and maybe il bump it down, but i do know it needs emptied, it will shut off when its full.

    Thanks bro:rasta:

How do i use my humidifier

I have a temp/rh meter that lets me know the min and max values since the last "reset" of the meter. I usually check at 6 pm when the lights go on and write the temp/rh, temp min/max, rh min/max on a sheet of paper on the wall along with the date and time. Then I reset the meter.

At eleven or so at night, write the stuff down and reset the gauge. If I want I can do the same thing in the am. This way I have a running track of the temp/rh to see how the room reacts to the dehumidifier, ac, fans, watering and who knows what else.

If I notice that I should adjuist the temp or rh, I have something to base my decision on.

If the dehumidifier shuts off when it is full, then my room gets a higher rh. I have figured out that it takes about 12 hours or so to fill up, it depends. But sometimes I sleep in or I come home late, and then I am reading a 65 or70 rh, but I know it couldn't have been for long, maybe an hour or two tops.

The closer you put the humidity monitor to your pots, (which contain moist soil) the higher the humnidity readings will be. Just like taking temperatures under the light will read higher temperatures. I guess what I'm saying...is make sure you are not adjusting a skewed reading. What are the humidity readings on the other side of the closet/room?

I'm not a believer in foliar feeding. In flower, I keep the humidity as low as it will go, and I never spray 'em unless it's to correct deficiencies. (heat and moisture can quickly cause mold) During monsoon season when humidity levels jump, (50% RH and up) I put the circulating fans on a higher setting in an attempt to keep leaf surface 'drier'.

Higher humidity and colder temperatures lower the dew point, which is the point moisture (water vapor) starts to collect on surfaces. (again...a potential mold issue)

Well im just seeing nice buds starting so il move it from 60 to 50 per. And yeah Rusty i take in account to the fact my dehumidifier is back behind the set up and go by my meter that sits on the pot. It was in the higher 80's thats why i felt i needed too use it. In two weeks they have grown 3', might need a re pot. I had re potted them right before flower, so i hope i can make it through.

Thanks Rusty il post a few pics when there is something to post. I had to bend one over for height reasons, the other broke on me so i taped it up and left it up right, but im sure she will be ok. Bad thing, it was the Wit from Holland i had one seed.

    Thanks again:rasta:
